The British heavyweight repeated his much-discussed remarks about wanting to “kill” Jake Paul during a media gathering in Miami on Wednesday.

His words were first made on the previous day when the boxer was asked if he would show restraint against Paul, replying that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

The upcoming bout against the YouTuber-turned-boxer has sparked debate over the risk involved and the physical disparity between the two athletes.

Tyson Fury Labels Joshua a “Disgrace”

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury called Joshua a “disgrace” for his inflammatory language.

But Joshua, explained his mindset: “This is what I do, we fight. We have a license that permits extreme violence.

“I understand many people don't grasp it but this is what my job is. I take pleasure in what I do. Whatever happens, happens - as long as my hand is held high, that's what's important, respectfully.”

He stated, “That's just the psychology we have to have as warriors. I'm unsure if other fighters think that way. Perhaps they're a bit more reserved. The way my mind works. When you're in the ring, it's a risky thing. Anything can happen.”

“You wish your opponent exits the ring safely, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed knowing you just did your job. It was not personal.”

Paul's Fiery Response

Jake Paul, a massive underdog in the heavyweight contest as a natural lighter fighter, was equally combative in his response.

“This is a contemporary combat sport,” Paul said. “I'm prepared. I want his hardest punches. I want there to be no excuses when it's all over. Let's kill each other.”

Joshua will face Paul, 28, at Miami's Kaseya Center in a bout many regard as a glaring mismatched contest, with some arguing it should have been sanctioned as an non-professional fight.

The professional contest will be fought over eight three-minute stanzas using standard ten-ounce padded gloves, with a stipulated weight limit for Joshua.

Joshua Claims He Was “Brought In to Save” Boxing

Despite the graphic terminology used, Joshua said he has been “brought in to save” boxing.

“They want me to stop the Jake Paul show and I understand it and that's why I have to carry boxing on my back in this fight,” he concluded.

The event also had more humorous exchanges, with Joshua smiling as Paul sang ‘London Bridge Is Falling Down’ to him.

The face-off passed peacefully, with the underdog striking a unusual pose before the champion stayed composed and playfully grabbed his necklace.

Paul & Joshua Dismiss Scripted Allegations

The peculiar aspect of this fight has led to rumors about its legitimacy, including suggestions that Joshua may be prohibited from scoring a knockout.

“There are no clauses in the agreement, AJ can confirm it. We're going to battle,” Jake Paul insisted.

Joshua, wearing a valuable chain, jokingly added, “The only thing in the contract that got my interest was the money.”

Paul has stated on his platforms that the total purse will be exceptionally high.

Jake Paul first gained fame as an online prankster, gathering a huge social media following.

He has not faced anyone of Joshua's calibre but maintained that his rival would take him seriously.

“It's smart on his part,” he said. “This could possibly be, and will be, the largest loss of his life.”

A victory for the underdog would be arguably the most shocking surprise in the sport's history.

It would undoubtedly leave an permanent stain on his legacy, but the athlete stated it would not mean retirement.

“I would come back again, move on,” he said. “I'll be main eventing again in a couple of years. It is what it is. I'm a player in the game.”
