Pep Guardiola has admitted feeling "shame" after an exchange with a camera operator subsequent to the Citizens' loss away to the Magpies on Saturday.

At full time, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and engaged in intense talks with match official Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, while also handling the broadcast crew's equipment.

"I said sorry," Guardiola stated. "I'm humiliated, regretful, when I see it. It's not acceptable. I apologised after one second to the operator. That's just me. With a thousand matches under my belt I'm far from perfect, errors happen."

Interaction with Guimarães

Regarding his confrontation with Guimarães, the coach explained: "I've known him for many years and every time after the game, home or away, we converse. We often meet and I always have a good relationship. I love it. I'm passionate, I love to talk and move my hands."

He wouldn't mind should a rival coach spoke to his players immediately after a game. "Not if you talk with respect like I always have done, it’s not a problem," he said, mentioning the referee. "The referee was involved for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, constantly. Goodness, very much so."

Controversial Decisions

The team felt aggrieved that the officials did not award City a penalty for a Fabian Schär challenge on Phil Foden, and doubted Bruno's positioning on Barnes' goal Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Pictures published later indicate the Brazilian was onside.

Upcoming Milestone

He will manage his century in Europe against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. "It’s quite good, it means that every season we have been there," he said.

The club has ten points after four games of the league phase, while Leverkusen have five.
